The candidate’s research focus should
be related to African and European security policy and peacekeeping of the UN,
AU, EU, and/or NATO in Africa and Europe.
The tasks to be undertaken include:
Conduct research individually and in collaboration with full-time staff
The candidate
is expected to publish one to two articles in reputable journals
The candidate is expected to organise and support departmental workshops and small conferences
There are no teaching or supervision requirements for this position
Duration: One year with possibility of renewal
Requirements: The successful candidate will have:
An advanced university
degree (Ph.D.) in political science or in another relevant discipline such
as law or history (preferably with relevant international relations
experience/expertise);Research experience and
publications related to the field of security policy;Ability to work harmoniously
in a multicultural environment;Fluency in English;Experience with
university-level research, with international organisations, scientific
and research/training institutions; and in fund-raising for research will
be considered strong assets
Remuneration: post-doctoral level
