We are seeking to appoint a Marie Curie Senior Research Associate to work in the Department of Mathematical Sciences of the School of Physical Sciences. You will work on a collaborative project, PARM-2, sponsored by the European Commission, concerning dynamics of elastic solids, wave propagation in structured media and industrial applications in physics, geomechanics and engineering. You will have an internationally leading research record (h-index can be considered in the assessment of the research impact) and an excellent record of publications in areas of wave science relevant to the project. You will have an outstanding level of expertise in analytical and numerical solution techniques. As a condition of the research grant you should have ten years experience after completion of your first University Degree, a PhD in Theoretical Physics, Applied Mathematics or a related discipline. The post is available for 1 year, commencing November 2012 or as soon as possible thereafter.
