Job Description
HPL researchers work in collaboration with other researchers in HP Labs and in the Russian academic and research community. They also work with HP customers on their information management challenges. With HP’s global business units and corporate operations, the researchers translate the results of their research into operational value and business potential for the company. HP Labs researchers are also active in their respective academic disciplines and publish the results of their research in leading academic and industrial journals.

As a team member in an industrial research lab, you will define research problems and create innovative solutions that are commercially realizable. The ideal candidate has a PhD in a technical discipline relevant to information management. He or she has strong analytical, research, and problem solving skills; excellent interpersonal communication and collaboration skill; and first class software development skills.

We are currently seeking highly qualified self-motivated PhD students for Research Associate positions to help shape our work in Information Services. Example areas include (but are not limited to): novel information processing and data extraction methods, content analysis and data mining, classification, search, data security, compliance management and governance, archiving, information lifecycle management, and related areas.

Required Skills:
This position is an internship position. We are looking for students actively pursuing their PhD’s in computer science. Success in our environment requires self-motivation, good planning skills, and self-management to conduct research leading to valuable new opportunities in a corporate environment.

A successful candidate will be pursuing a PhD in a relevant field, and have excellent research and programming skills, ability to work independently and in teams, excellent communications skills, a demonstrated ability to carry out excellent research and a strong desire to see innovation applied in real-world settings leading to tangible benefit.

We are particularly interested in candidates who have experience in novel information analysis and information management approaches, who have an interest in building and experimenting with research prototypes, and who would like to see their work solve real-world problems.

• Enrolled in a Computer Science Ph.D. program (e.g. computer science, information technology, computer engineering, mathematics)
• Expertise in: information management, databases, data mining, natural languages text parsing, content analysis, web services and service oriented architecture/algorithms
• Excellent research skills and judgment
• Good software development, prototyping, and debugging skills
• Strong creativity, analytical skills, and effective problem solving ability
• Strong presentation and written communication skills
• Fluency in English and Russian
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in research and engineering teams
• Commitment and self-motivation suitable to a start-up team

Desired Skills:
• Experience transforming research prototypes into products
• Experience working with a large international firm

в данном случае, полагаю, имеется в виду, что именно в России исследовательской команды у них не было, и топерь они пытаются ее создать (сужу по опыту другой подобного уровня компании), и есть подозрение, что платить будут оооочень мало

Полагаю, что не упоминают не только поэтому, но и просто может быть "политика фирмы". У меня, например, в контракте четко прописано, что я не могу разглашать кому бы то ни было размер своей зарплаты, включая даже сотрудников нашей же фирмы, санкции - увольнение.
